Desktop Explorer Cave Walkthrough | Early Password Route

Major spoilers: community walkthroughs agree that the early route depends on reading files and using the simulated OS. Commonly reported answers include guppy for the initial OpenMe step, inanna for the long-scroll clue, trunk for the papyrus riddle, and fake wall for the source-text prompt.

Verification policy

Unverified experiment. The candidate originally failed because the US English walkthrough SERP was already saturated.

Open the starting material

Community answer lists report guppy for OpenMe. After the relevant profile and program are available, keep the clue files beside the puzzle window so the answers remain tied to their evidence.

Long Scroll and papyrus answers

  • Long Scroll clue: enable readable wrapping or inspect the full line; the reported answer is inanna.
  • Papyrus or elephant-style riddle: the reported answer is trunk.
  • These are community-reported exact answers, not an official developer solution sheet.

Fake Wall and file manipulation

When the clue points to the source or asks you to read between the lines, inspect the text behind the active puzzle; community guides report fake wall as the literal response. A later key clue uses a renamed file extension to reveal an image and the reported password portonus.

If the labels do not match

Some guides cover a demo sequence while others cover the full release, and numbering varies. Match the clue wording and file action, not only a puzzle number. If the current build presents different text, treat this route as outdated rather than forcing the answer.
